Samsung i560 and i780

Samsung i560 and i780: smarties on focus

Word is out in the mobile community on the Symbian-based slider Samsung i560 and Samsung i780, a bar-shaped QWERTY smartphone, running on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS. Both devices sport full HSDPA with video calls functionality. Let's also remind you of the recently announced Samsung i450, i550 and i620 - all of them offer outstanding functionality and cool design in the smart-line portfolio of Samsung.

So lately despite some official information for the brand new and upcoming Samsung i560 was found on Vodafone Christmas 2007 consumer offering, Samsung didn't revealed a thing about the new device, as usually. However, we managed to get our hands on the official photos and some scarce specifications on the Samsung i560. It's running on Symbian OS 9.2 Series 60 v3.1 operating system and sports a large 2.4" 262K color TFT display with a QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) resolution. Shutter bugs will be content with the 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus that the slider is equipped with. The integrated memory is not as large as in Samsung i620, but still at decent level of 150 MB and is further expandable through a microSD memory card slot. Connectivity features include Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and USB v2.0 connectivity. Strangely enough, the Vodafone Christmas 2007 handset range states that the Samsung i560V will feature a built-in GPS receiver. Yet, GPS capability is not to be found on the scarce official Samsung fact sheet on Samsung i560 that we found, nor there is a hardware key on the front panel of the phone to indicate this. So for now it remains mystery whether Samsung i560 will be equipped with a GPS receiver.

Samsung i560 and i560V: the GPS icon is clearly visible in the main menu

Anyways, the other hot device, the bar-shaped Samsung i780 was first seen at Samsung stand at the GITEX Expo, again with no official announcement by the manufacturer. This PocketPC based on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS is obviously made to impress. The Samsung i780 features a square 65K TFT touchscreen display with the unusual resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps and built-in GPS receiver. The 2 megapixel camera mounted on the handset sports autofocus and you can enjoy your pictures via the built-in TV out port. The i780 also sports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, and slot for microSD card. Among the highly interesting features of the i780 is the ingenious navigation solution - an optical mouse pad which allows users to navigate a mouse cursor throughout the interface. Packing such a massive functionality, the mere thickness of 13.3 mm makes the Samsung i760 a true engineering feat. Unfortunately, the processor model and battery, but as we managed to find out it will have 180MB ROM and 128MB RAM.

As you probably have guessed, there is still no information of pricing and availability of both Samsung i560 and Samsung i780.

Editorial comment: Closing another week behind us, we cannot but feel tired by the Samsung marketing strategy or more particularly by the lack of it. Numerous new South Korean handsets leaked online or were spotted in the wild this summer without the manufacturer saying anything about them. Don't get us wrong, leaks on new models are the bread and butter in our line of work, but with Samsung they seem to be the only source of information, too. It seems as if the Samsung PR department has left the company permanently, and whoever got the job afterwards is still working out the meaning of the press release as a way of communication with the press. We are as always trying to give you the most credible information in the industry, but when it comes to Samsung more than often all we are left with is only scraps of information here and there. Trying to keep track on all their latest mobile phones has been a particular challenge of its own.

HTC Touch Slide and S730 surface earlier

HTC Touch Slide and S730 surface earlier

With only two days left until the official HTC announcement the first pictures of the new additions to the company mobile phone portfolio leaked on the internet. The pictures of two new models are posted on the Superior Gadgets News website and they seem quite interesting indeed.

HTC S730 is equipped with a much better looking QWERTY keyboard compared to its predecessor HTC S710. The successor model is very similar to HTC S710 in terms of looks and as it seems it will include all its features plus a few nice upgrades. The display remains 65 K color one with QVGA resolution and wireless functionality is kept too. The available RAM memory also remains unchanged at 64MB but the flash memory is doubled in size and is now as large as 256MB. However the greatest improvement made is the CPU -e the TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor is replaced with a far more powerful Qualcomm 7200 with working frequency of 400 MHz. The final feature added to HTC S730 in comparison to the S710 is the added 3G-functionality and this is surely a change for good.

HTC S730

Moving on to the other leaked model we find a device everyone expected – HTC Touch Slide. Working on the HTC Nike platform HTC Touch Slide looks as a copy of the original HTC Touch except for the fact that it now comes in slider form factor bringing a keypad we are used to seeing in RIM Blackberry phones. The processor of the new model is twice as fast as the one of its predecessor and the ROM and RAM capacities have also been doubled. This means that HTC Touch Slide is now equipped with a 400MHz Qualcomm process with 128MB of RAM and 256MB ROM. The upgrades here like in HTC S730 also include 3G and a dedicated videocall camera. The final features of HTC Touch Slide that are unveiled at this stage are the WLAN and the 2 megapixel camera.

At this stage there is no information regarding both devices pricing and availability but we hope that this will be fixed with the official announcement at the 1st of October.

Garmin Mobile XT: universal navigation system

Garmin Mobile XT: universal navigation system

Garmin announced Garmin Mobile XT, interesting all-in-one navigation solution that turns smartphones with internal/external GPS receivers into Garmin navigators. Garmin Mobile XT offers preloaded maps for either North America or 30 European countries, including access to dynamic content such as real-time traffic alerts and fuel prices. The new application is free of any monthly fees or subscriptions and is sold at a rather reasonable price.

Garmin Mobile XT is preloaded on a microSD card (with miniSD and standard SD card converter) which means you can put the card into any smartphone and enjoy the Garmin intuitive navigation which launches automatically. The software is compatible with Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Palm, and Symbian S60 v3 devices and sports the regular functions such as turn-by-turn navigation and voice assitance, as well as advanced features such as travel guides, topo maps, custom points of interest, route planning with saved routes, custom avoidances and visible trip logs. Garmin Mobile XT users also have the benefit of routing to the location of a contact in their phone's address book or to a calendar appointment (on supported platforms). The maps that the Garmin Mobile XT uses for navigation are made by NAVTEQ, which was recently announced as a will-be acquisition of Nokia.

The Garmin Mobile XT also includes the so-called PeerPoints, a feature enabling users to send their GPS position to any other Garmin-enabled handset as well as view and navigate to the location of other Garmin Mobile XT users. PeerPoints is a convenient way to keep track of friends and family and easily navigate to them. Other benefit is the included free access to Garmin Online, a useful service which gives up-to-date information such as real-time traffic, fuel prices, hotel prices and weather forecasts.

Garmin Mobile XT is available now for a suggested retail price of US 99 for USA and GBP 59.99 for UK and Ireland.

Samsung and Bang & Olufsen present Serenata

Samsung and Bang & Olufsen
present Serenata

Today, Samsung and Bang & Olufsen unveiled their ingenious and artful music mobile phone Samsung Serenata, designed by David Lewis, whose name is related to many of the products by Bang & Olufsen. Samsung Serenata, previously rumored as Samsung Serene 2 or Samsung F310 Serenata, looks more of a high-tech music player than a traditional mobile phone. Samsung Serenata is the successor of Samsung Serene, an exotic mobile phone, born again under the Samsung and Bang & Olufsen colaboration. The Serene failed to gain wide popularity, possibly due to its hefty pricetag of US1500.

When you first lay your eyes at the tri-band GSM and HSDPA-enabled Serenata, you will notice that it is strangely oriented upside down. The touchscreen display is at the bottom of the phone, while the big navigation wheel is located at the top. The navigation click wheel serves multiple functions such as accepting and ending a call, browsing in playlists, typing messages, etc. It also incorporates a "C" and a "Back" key on it's up and down positions. Under the wheel are placed the "Music" and "More" context keys. Other curious fact is that the phone earpiece is located out of sight under the lacquered aluminum front panel.

Samsung Serenata official photos

It's the design of the Samsung Serenata that's meant to impress, not the phone specifications. The phone itself sports a square 256K color TFT display, good 4 GB of internal memory for storing lots of tracks and other data, and Bluetooth functionality. No WLAN capability or memory card slot is present, however, but it's no big deal. We are somewhat put down by the fact that there is no built-in camera. The Samsung Serenata also comes with a collection of special nature-inspired ringtones, but you can also set your favorite MP3 tracks as a ringtone.

Samsung Serenata official photos

The other face of the Serenata is the one of an exceptional music player. When the phone is in Music mode the color of the display turns red, as opposed to the blue-colored display in Phone mode. Serenata has a built-in hi-fi stereo speaker system which delivers outstanding sound quality with no sound distortion even at the highest volume, thanks to the Bang & Olufsen-patented ICEpower amplification. The stereo speakers get revealed when you slide up the bottom part of the phone. Also, a built-in stand is provided, so as to conveniently position the player on your desk for example. Keeping your tracks synchronized is facilitated by the simple BeoPlayer software that can access and organise all music files on the PC and conveniently transfer them to Serenata. The Samsung PC studio however will be in charge of syncing your contacts, messages and appointments with MS Outlook.

Having a hi-fi stereo speaker system in a mobile device comes at a cost of good 19.7 mm of thickness and the hefty 136 g weight of the device.

As of yet there is no information on availability and pricing of the Samsung Serenata.

3G Skypephone to be sold by 3

3G Skypephone to be sold by 3
3G Skypephone to be sold by 3

The long awaited GSM-enabled Skypephone has just been officially announced by Skype and the "3" mobile operator. The Skypephone is a 3G mobile phone that lets you make free Skype to Skype calls (video calls too) and send free Skype instant messages from your mobile to other Skype users. It also has all the standard functionality of a mobile phone.

3 Skypephone
offers more than a free Skype to Skype calls - based on the Qualcomm BREW platform it also sports a bunch of modern features as a 2-megapixel camera, mp3 player, mobile TV and internet, as well as Java 3D games. The Skypephone is colored in shiny white with blue trim. A white-with-red-trim and a black version will also be available to suit different preferences of the consumers.

The 3 Skypephone
will be available in either
Black or White
with two different trims

The information is displayed on the 2-inch 262K TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels resolution. You can store images and other files on the main memory, however since it's only 16MB capacity, you would better off throwing in microSD cards (up to 1GB is maximum supported). Receiving files is possible trough Bluetooth, but Wi-Fi is not within the options of the device. The phone is made to be actively used, that is why it draws its power from a large 1150 mAh Li-ion battery.

The lack of Wi-Fi is not the only flaw of the device, the other one is that the Skypephone does not support Skype Out service and hence there is no way to make low-cost long-distance call via your Skype account.

The Skypephone will be sold exclusively by "3" in the UK, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Macau and Sweden. UK will be first to get the handset as soon as November 2nd.

The Skype to Skype calls will be free as long as the Skypephone is used with contract or on pay-as-you-go which is topped up monthly. In the UK, the 3 Skypephone will be available at the cost of GBP 49.99 on a pay-as-you-go tariff or free on a contract.

(You'll Always Have) My Love

(You'll Always Have) My Love
Everything has passed now
It’s all in the past
I guess along I knew deep down
That it would never last
Maybe I’ll laugh about someday
Someday far away
But until that day
I’ll just sit alone and wait

I’m slowly starting to realize
That everything you said were lies
Every tear I cried for you
Every pain, you had no clue
You held me and told me you loved me
I was so happy
But it turns out that you never meant it
And you never wanted me

Stupid of me to think that you ever did
Fooled myself into happiness, who was I trynna kid?
Now I’ll rid myself of these memories
Pass it all off as another of life’s games
Close my eyes and begin to cry
And try to deal with this pain

And all the songs I wrote for you
Things I said and gifts I gave too
And all along I had no clue
That you could make me feel this blue
But it’s too late to go back now
I’m finally giving up
And as I write these words I begin to cry
Because you will always have my love

wonderful

wonderful
In the picture, just look at their condition.. no place to sleep, still they have
made some space for d cat n d dog... water poring from the roof but still
each 1 of them have a peaceful smile on their face.. Simply amazing!!!!!

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems,
but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.
Keep Smiling Always.

More Than A Friend .

You're more than a friend
I felt it from the start
Something gripped inside me
And wrapped around my heart

I can't explain what happened
Nor do I care to try
Should I act upon my urge
Or do I let it pass by?

I try not to analyze
What fate has in store
Although I have my wishes
For what's behind the door

Maybe I'm a fool
for believing what I feel
it could be just "a thing"
But yet it seems so real

As long days pass me by
Time will only tell
If you and I are meant to be
Fate will wish us well

So as I wait for answers
Your friend I will always be
Loving you from a distance
As you're a friend to me . .

The Light Of Friendship

I've seen the light
And it's in you,
In everything you are
And in everything you do.

It's a perfect light
That shines for all to see.
It radiates from you
And has pierced the heart of me.

The light is from a friend.
It's a light that keeps me warm.
It lets me know how loved I am,
And keeps me safe from harm.

To you my friend I am thankful,
In each and every way.
For you lift my spirits up,
With every passing day.

To know that you are there for me,
It makes me feel alive.
Because it is your friendship's light,
Upon which my love thrives.

Thank you isn't good enough,
But they're the only words I know.
It is your light of friendship,
That gives my world its glow.

A Friend's Greeting

I'd like to be the sort of friend that
you have been to me;
I'd like to be the help that
you've been always glad to be;

I'd like to mean as much to you
each minute of the day
As you have meant, old friend of mine,
to me along the way.

I'd like to do the big things and
the splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies
and leave them only blue;

I'd like to say the kindly things that
I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could rouse your soul
the way that mine you've stirred.

I'd like to give you back the joy
that you have given me,
Yet that were wishing you a need
I hope will never be;

I'd like to make you feel as rich as I,
who travel on
Undaunted in the darkest hours with you to
lean upon.

I'm wishing at this time that I
could but repay
A portion of the gladness that
you've strewn along my way;

And could I have one wish this year,
this only would it be:
I'd like to be the sort of friend
that you have been to me.

Net Friendship

I told someone just the other day
That I had friends all over the place
They wondered how I could say I knew
Someone I hadn't met face to face

We write little notes and send out sites
And a few write just to say "Hey"
Then I have a few special ones
That I talk to every single day

At times when I can't sleep at night
I will often go online
There I will find a friend or two
That will help me pass the time

I think sometimes my online friends
Know me more than my neighbors next door
And they don't care if my house is clean
Or what time I came in the night before

So no matter how far apart you are
If you're sincere in the love that you give
Online friends can be as true and as real
As your friends in the place where you live

One Special Night

As I sit here gazing out the window,
Instead of working, I’m daydreaming of you...
And wondering if while you’re in your own world,
You’re thinking of me too.

I reminisce about the day we met and how you made me feel,
Looking at the glowing smile on your face,
Staring into your dreamy blue eyes,
Your smell, your touch, your warm embrace

What a special night that was...

And now, I’m starting to feel that warmth inside,
Like nothing or no one else can make me feel...
Butterflies, a constant smile, happy thoughts,
Looking forward to the next time we meet.

What lies ahead, down the road to love?
Can it possibly be what I’ve been hoping for?
All my goals, dreams, passions, hopes...
Glaring now before me with great anticipation.

No one knows what tomorrow brings...
One can only wish and believe...
I have abounding faith that God will take care of me,
And bring the right person into my life.

Could it be you?
Time will tell...
I feel a special bond starting between us,
And so I’m truly hopeful that it is (you).

My One and Only True Love

My One and Only True Love

My one and only love
Was once my friend.
My love was the mountain
I climbed everyday.

My love was the sun;
Made my day always shine.
My love was the moon.
It made me glow with happiness.

My love was the stars;
I could make a wish.
My love was the water;
I could wash and see the goodness.

My love was the wind;
It blew in all the smiles.
My one and only true LOVE,

even if i don't know your name

even if i don't know your name
To ask you your name

I can't stop thinking about you
I can't even concentrate when we are together in class
I just look and think about you the hole session
I go to class just to look at the beautiful you
And not to listen to the lecturer
You look back with that beautiful face and eyes of yours
And make me think you feel the same

You noticed and made things worst
You look at me and you don't take your face off me
You look at me with your beautiful eyes and
Your beautiful eyes defeat mine
You deflate my strength and make me shy to approach you
Especially when you are with your friends
See you alone and still I'm afraid
Your beauty makes me not to think properly
Because I only think of you

I approached you late after test and you gave me little time
I didn't even have a chance to ask your mane
I just told you how I feel about you and you said you have someone
I just told you so because I've wasted too much time

You still didn't tell me how you feel about me
After speaking to you, you never came to class again
And I miss seeing your pretty face
When we meet again, please don't let me down
I'm all alone and hungry for love
My warm hands are ready to hold you
Please love me back
I really love you anonymous
And I hope you also love me
Even if I don't know your name

Every second of the night

Every second of the night

Before I go to bed each night
I step outside into the light
Of the silvery moon, riding high
And a million stars in the velvet sky...

My prayers I offer to the moon
That it cast its beams into your room
And guide you gently to your bed
And soften the pillow for your head...

And with every star I plead as well
That it snare you with its twinkling spell
And fill your dreams with sweet delight...
For every second of the night.

I Know I'll Love Again

I Know I'll Love Again

How do you repair a heart that's broken?
How do you heal the wounds?
How do you ever trust another?
How do you love so soon?

You left me asking these questions,
You left me alone to wonder.
How could I know you'd leave me,
And break the spell I'm under?

We had a love like fairy tales-
Prince Charming on one knee.
I thought I was your Cinderella,
But I was too blind to see.

The love you had came from another,
Someone I'm afraid to know.
So now I hide within myself,
So my pain-filled eyes won't show.

You've made it hard to trust another,
Making sure no paths are crossed.
Since you never knew what you had,
You'll never know now what you've lost!

My heart was all for giving,
But all you did was take.
I know one day I'll love again,
And learn from my mistakes

I hope that love keeps you...

I hope that love keeps you...

I hope love keeps you wrapped in her bud,
woven into her intricate quilt,
safe from the realities that may scold us.

I hope love keeps you home on winter's nights,
folded between blankets and contented slumber.

I hope love keeps you inquisitive of sparkling eyes,
mystified by beautiful women and places,
and restless enough to admire them and keep searching.

I hope love keeps you not bound to her bosom or cast
from her sight... for only after great suffering and loss
can we truly appreciate the breathlessness of heaven.

I hope love keeps you merry on warm summer nights,
drunk on the air that flows down through the wild flowers
and up over the fresh dew of mountains.

I hope love keeps you not stagnant or hurried...
for the man who has trekked down into the great caverns of Earth--
trying to measure the caverns inside of him, has truly searched,
and in doing so will find his own answers.

But, the man who can't enjoy comfort in his friends
and the lazy daydream of afternoon naps,
could never truly be content.

I hope love keeps you indifferent to the masses,
considerate of the ignorant and the weak,
strong in the face of your fears,
and tender to the touch of your pain.

I hope love keeps you...
until I can hold you once again.

I LOVE YOU

I LOVE YOU

I whispered the words over and over again
Tasting the sweet fragrance of each syllables
Rolling off my tongue
Like crystal raindrops
Flowing in my veins.

"I love you" were the words
An ancient masterpiece
Older than the sunbeam
That set the oceans on fire
Older than the constellations that
Dance across the night sky.

Yet, to a baby
It?s calm, untouched,
New...
Like the morning mist dripping
From the dandelions

A mother?s first kiss of recognition
"I love you," the taste of sweet remembrance
"I love you," the scent of forget-me-not
"I love you," the miracle of a newborn baby.
"I love you, I love you...

I won't stop

I won't stop
Just because our life stopped,
Doesn't mean I've stopped.
You were my life once but now it's far away.
Just because we've stopped,
Doesn't mean my tears stopped.
I can pine, yet, I can keep walking away.

I won't die because of you.
I won't lie because of you.
I won't give you anything more than you deserve.
I won't stop because of you.
I won't drop because of you.
To ask for more would be cheeky and the nerve.

Just because our life stopped,
Doesn't mean I've stopped.
You kept taking and never would you give.
Just because 'us' stopped,
Won't mean I must stop...
I've got what it takes to stand up and live.

I won't fall because of you.
I won't crawl because of you.
I'll strive on through troubles until I reach a shore.
I won't stop because of you.
No, I won't stop because of you.
I won't be under the dark cloud you left for me anymore.

I AM AND SHALL ALWAYS BE....

Do you understand what it is like
To see and shape the courses
Of the stars? To see them in
Your eyes and your smile?
Without your love to guide my soul,
I could not be half the what I
Should.....must be!
We are one in soul and mind. I
Find it amusing that somewhere,
Deep inside me, I always knew;
But, that I never could speak of it--
Least of all....to you.
But you were patient with me.
You waited until the time was right;
Yet, in the interim, stalking my
Uncertain heart with sweet,
Relentless persistence.
Now, I do not have to wait for 'someday'.
Our love is now - it is my total reality -
We need never look back to the empty yesterdays;
There is only endless tomorrow.
We are each other's best and true destiny;
Eternal and constant as the stars we sail!
"I am, and shall always be, yours!
